Multicultural Children’s Book Day – Timbrook

Join us at the Timbrook Library for a passive celebration of Multicultural Children’s Book Day (MCBD). There will be a new StoryWalk featuring “¡Gracias, Omu!” by Oge Mora. (An English translation will be available.) We will also have an outdoor Pop-Up Library for your family to check out other fun, multicultural children’s books.

Multicultural Children’s Book Day is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that hosts an annual celebration of diverse children’s books. Its mission is “to not only raise awareness for the kid’s books that celebrate diversity, but to get more of these books into classrooms and libraries.” Find more info at multiculturalchildrensbookday.com.

“Thank You, Omu!” by Oge Mora is a recipient of a Caldecott Honor and the Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe New Talent Award, among other accolades. It was also selected for 2019’s Read for the Record campaign.
