CCPLS launches Beyond Books
Campbell County Public Library System to Offer New Collection of Nontraditional Materials
Campbell County Public Library System will begin offering a new collection called Beyond Books in September. The collection contains nontraditional materials that patrons can check out. These materials are separated into four main categories:
- Home & Garden: Items such as tools, equipment, and technology
- Kitchen: Items such as novelty cake pans and cookie cutters
- Fun & Games: Items such as lawn games, board games, and puppets
- Learn & Grow: Items such as arts/crafts kits, travel destination bags, and health monitors
CCPLS is dedicated to meeting the changing educational, informational, and cultural needs of the public. With that in mind, the library believes patrons will benefit from having access to nontraditional items “beyond books.” This collection can help them save money, explore different hobbies, and learn new things.
Anyone who is 18 years old or older who has a library card in good standing with CCPLS, Lynchburg Public Library, or Bedford Public Library can borrow Beyond Books materials. Items can be checked out for either one or two weeks.
All four CCPLS locations will have items, but patrons must pick up and return the items in person at the branch that houses the item. A signed waiver is required before borrowing any of the items.
