Update Regarding Federal Funding

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), a federal agency, has been in the news over the last several months. Some of you have reached out to ask if and how changes at IMLS affect you as Campbell County citizens.

While Campbell County Public Library System (CCPLS) doesn’t receive direct funding from IMLS, we do receive many IMLS funded products and services via statewide funding from IMLS to the Library of Virginia (LVA).

Those resources include:
• The CCPLS website and technical support;
Legal Forms;
Magzter, our e-magazine service;
BrainFuse for students, jobseekers, and veterans;
NoveList for reader’s advisory;
Universal Class;
Transparent Language for language learning;
• Funding toward Beanstack, the platform used to facilitate Summer Reading and monthly reading challenges;
• Staff trainings and support tools.

LVA has indicated that these digital services will remain available at least through September 30th, 2026.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed of developments. Please direct any questions to Jordan Welborn at Ljwelborn@co.campbell.va.us or 434-332-9657.
