Friends of the Timbrook Library

The Friends of the Timbrook Library are supporters of the Timbrook Library programs and services. Their involvement in the library directly supports the children of our community through funding children’s programs throughout the year. In February, the Friends hold an annual “Love you Library” campaign where patrons can purchase a heart to show their support of their library. Every year they provide monetary support to the Summer Reading Program. In December they invite Santa to the library for a fun evening with the children of our community.

In recent years, the Friends have also been known to support the professional development of staff at the library. They funded a trip for Lisa Mays, story-time extraordinaire, to attend a seminar on story telling methods in Richmond as well as supports Dana Bomba, Timbrook Librarian, through funding for the Virginia Library Association’s Annual Conference.

In 2015, the Friends made a large monetary donation to the Campbell County Public Library Foundation fundraising campaign in support of the construction of the new, and greatly improved, Timbrook Library – a beautiful, stand-alone building in the Timbrook Park which opened on January 9, 2016!

Ongoing Book Sale and Annual BIG Book Sale The Friends maintain an ongoing book sale in the Timbrook Library during regular library hours.  In addition, they hold an annual 2-day big book sale in the Fall. This year the book sale will be held on Friday, October 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Timbrook Meeting Room. If you are interested in volunteering to help set up the sale on Thursday evening, please email Dana Bomba, .

Book Donations to support the sales  Public donations are crucial for our sales; we resell books and DVDs. Donations of materials in good condition (and from a smoke-free home) are appreciated and can be delivered directly to the library during regular hours. Please call ahead if you have a large donation in order to schedule a time with Lisa Mays, the library’s book sale coordinator on staff.  We love cookbooks, craft books, sewing books and novels (both hardback & paperback).  Unfortunately, we are unable to accept textbooks, medical books, encyclopedias or reference books.  PLEASE do not put donations in the outside book drop box.

Monetary Donations Accepted in the form of cash or check (made out to The Friends of Timbrook Library) any time during regular library hours.

Membership  You can join the Friends! The Friends are currently seeking members for their general membership. Membership forms can be obtained from the Timbrook Library. For additional information, please contact Dana Bomba, Librarian of the Timbrook Library (592-9549).
