Enchanted Trail is an immersive, outdoor story experience for families to enjoy on the Timbrook Park trails!
Every month, a small trail in the woods behind Timbrook Library is transformed with decorations and a story. Families are given a scavenger hunt to enjoy as they walk the trail and read the story together. There is a new theme every month, and each one incorporates Virginia SOLs. After the trail, all are welcome to check out books at our Pop Up Library. This event is geared towards pre-school and elementary students, and the whole family is welcome! Registration will be available through Eventbrite about two weeks prior to the event date.
See below for upcoming Enchanted Trail dates & themes:
Friday, July 23, 11am-5:30pm pre-registration & 5:30pm-7:30pm drop-in time
This month’s theme is a version of the classic tale “The Ugly Duckling.” Enjoy a story about some tail-feathered friends and foster a love of reading and nature by attending this event with your family!
This event is free, but pre-registration is required from 11am- 5:30pm. Please select one time slot for your family or group. This month, we are offering two additional hours of the Enchanted Trail (5:30-7:30pm) for families to drop-in with no pre-registration required. Be sure to dress appropriately to be outside for about half an hour and sensible shoes are a must! The Enchanted Trails are geared towards preschool and elementary-aged kids, and the whole family is welcome. Please note this is a completely outdoor event, and the trail is not stroller friendly.
Please arrive promptly for your time slot so that each group can have their own space on the trail. During our drop-in hours (5:30-7:30pm), your family may experience a brief wait, as we will stagger start times.
