Book Sale
Anyone who comes to the library is encouraged to donate or purchase gently used books. The Friends group maintains an ongoing sale of these books in the foyer of the library. Most books are priced at one dollar. From this sale, the Friends earns over $3,000 a year to give back to the library!

Snack Sale
The Friends group also offers a snack sale. These items can be purchased and consumed within the library. Items change regularly, but often include chips, crackers, candy bars, sodas, water, and coffee.

Contributions
Recent Friends' contributions include:

• Patio construction, furniture, and umbrellas
• Library furniture
• Glass meeting room
• Children's area refurbishment (painting, furniture, manipulatives, and benches)
• Large outdoor marquee
• 9-foot artificial Christmas tree
• Storage shed to house children's programming materials
• Funding for the Everbrite Light Wall in the children's section

Needlecrafters (every Tuesday from 12-3 PM)
Bring whatever you're working on and join this lively group for creation, ideas, and camaraderie. This group began meeting monthly and became popular so quickly that they now meet weekly. In addition to working on individual projects, the group as a whole has contributed to several charities.

Annual Yard Sale
The Friends of the library host an annual yard sale on the first Friday/Saturday of May. Donations are accepted during the month of April. Thanks to our tireless group of volunteers, this is our biggest event of the year! Details and dates can be found on our Facebook page.

The Friends of the Rustburg Library are pleased to announce a $1,000 educational scholarship opportunity. Some qualifications include:

• High school senior graduating in the Spring of 2026 from Rustburg High School, home schooling, or a private institution.
• Live full-time in the Rustburg High School district.
• Has chosen to continue their education at an accredited two-year community college, four-year college/university, or trade school.
• Volunteers for the Campbell County Public Library for at least 10 documented volunteer hours (arranged by the library's Branch Manager).

The Friends' funding for all of the above comes entirely from annual membership fees and book sales. Our operating costs are minimal, and all our board members are volunteers. Therefore, the amount of money we make determines the amount we can give to the library.

How to Become a Member

• Membership fee is $5 per person or $10 for a family.
• Dues can be paid in person or by using the PayPal button below.

Your membership fee supports the library in countless ways. Memberships are not tax-deductible, but donations (cash, books, and other materials) are tax-deductible. All support is greatly appreciated! Please visit PayPal or stop by the library to make a donation.

There are a number of ways you can contribute to the success of the Friends. For example:

• Attend monthly meetings and vote on projects
• Serve as a member of the Board
• Attend programs and promote the Friends group
• Fundraising
• Advocacy within the community and to elected officials

• Donate lightly used books (except textbooks)
